EBS Dublin at Dublin Business School was set up in 1993 and was originally part of the EBS International group of business schools located in Dortmund, Kaliningrad, London, Madrid, Munich, Riga and Paris. Partnerships have also been established with numerous other schools and universities in Europe and the USA which allow their students participate in the various programmes at DBS. More than 300 students come together each year to study and live the international experience at first hand.

The mission of EBS Dublin at DBS is to provide its students with a quality, challenging and meaningful educational experience in Ireland. We do this with a strong commitment to each student’s individuality and a deep respect for their cultural differences. EBS Dublin at DBS is an educational institution with a special atmosphere. That atmosphere is a direct result of our staff and students. EBS Dublin at DBS places value on ‘Experiential Education’ and sees the whole city and the activities that we run as an integral part of the learning opportunity that we provide to our students. Student satisfaction is as much about their ‘Dublin experience’ as it is about their academic achievement. In association with our European partners, EBS Dublin at DBS has successfully built up an excellent reputation that makes us a popular choice for students wishing to study abroad.

Dublin Business School (DBS)

In March 2006, EBS Dublin became part of Dublin Business School, Ireland’s largest private state accredited college with over 9,000 students. DBS provides a comprehensive range of undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and executive education programmes in the areas of Business, Law, Arts and Humanities, and programmes are offered to students from Ireland and all over the world. EBS Dublin students have full access to the facilities and services offered by DBS and may also attend some programmes at DBS.

In 2003, Kaplan Inc., the education division of The Washington Post Company, acquired Dublin Business School. Kaplan is a leading provider of higher education, professional development and lifelong learning programmes with headquarters in New York City and locations throughout the U.S. and internationally. In the U.S. it has 56 campus-based schools in 15 states offering a range of degree and diploma programmes in areas such as business, information technology, healthcare and law. Kaplan brings a wealth of expertise and experience that will enable DBS to consolidate its leading position in the third level education sector. Kaplan will also support the further development of the School, backed by the resources of a $3.5 billion enterprise, and will enable DBS to diversify in terms of both products and markets and to expand substantially the scale of its operations, both in Ireland and internationally. DBS has in turn brought its distinctive expertise and experience to the Kaplan organisation, notably in the development of accredited programmes and in the successful cultivation of strategic alliances. As part of the Kaplan organisation, DBS will play a central role in the implementation of group strategy for global development, particularly through its strategic alliances in the European market.
